The DAAWN Charter
The DAAWN Charter is a set of principles that shows an employer’s commitment to raising awareness of domestic abuse in the workplace.
DAAWN asks all employers to sign up and unite against domestic abuse.
Employers Commitment
Our organisation acknowledges and recognises that Domestic Abuse impacts all of us as a society. We believe that combating Domestic Abuse is a shared responsibility. We are prepared to play our part to raise awareness in the workplace, and to signpost those affected to useful resources.
We will challenge the status quo, stigma, and stereotypes around Domestic Abuse and provide support to anyone affected.
To achieve this, we will:
Implement a Domestic Abuse Policy and communicate this to all employees.
Provide information and sign posting to employees, so they can access appropriate resources and support.
Provide guidance to managers, so they are aware of the potential signs that someone may be experiencing Domestic Abuse and know how to approach individuals and provide support.
Provide support to anyone affected and help them to confidentially access information and support.
Make reasonable steps to accommodate any additional needs in the workplace in line with our Domestic Abuse Policy.
Include Domestic Abuse awareness in our induction process so that all new starters who join the organisation are made aware of our Domestic Abuse Policy and associated resources.
Publicise that we are a DAAWN employer to help raise awareness in the wider business community.
